GTA 6 Online: is multiplayer in at launch? What we know
Is there GTA 6 Online on 19 November? What Rockstar has said, what's reported about a 2027 launch, and what happens to GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox.
Short answer: no online mode has been announced for launch. That doesn't mean one will never come. Rockstar just hasn't announced one yet.
What Rockstar has said
Rockstar describes GTA 6 as a "single-player experience" arriving on 19 November. Confirmed No online mode has been announced for launch, and Rockstar hasn't given a GTA 6 Online date or price. Confirmed
The pre-order bonuses include a month of GTA+ for digital pre-orders. GTA+ is Rockstar's subscription for the current GTA Online, so that doesn't tell us anything about a new mode. Confirmed
What's being reported
- A 2027 launch. The most-cited timing comes from comments attributed to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy in a Bloomberg interview, suggesting the next online mode is expected in 2027. Rockstar hasn't confirmed this. Rumour
- A standalone release. Some outlets say the packaging lists no online features. That has fuelled talk that online could launch separately, as Red Dead Online did. Rumour
- A December surprise. GTA Online launched two weeks after GTA 5 in 2013. Some fans hope for the same gap, which would mean early December. Nothing official supports this. Rumour
What about current GTA Online?
Rockstar hasn't announced any plans to shut down GTA Online when GTA 6 launches. Confirmed
